چکیده
Background Lymphoproliferative disorders (LPDs), including malignant lymphoma, are known to occur in RA patients treated with disease modified antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). In particular, LPD associated methotrexate (MTX)-treated is often referred as MTX-associated (MTX-LPD). MTX-LPD have various clinical feature and histological findings 1) . We accumulated cases rheumatoid arthritis (MTX-RA-LPD). Objectives clarified the characteristics of MTX-RA-LPD. addition, we examine prognosis patients. Methods enrolled 100 who diagnosed from 2005 2021. collected follow data based on reports retrospectively; age, 2) gender, 3) duration onset onset, 4) total dose MTX, 5) MTX administration, 6) presence extranodal lesion 7) findings, 8) treatment for LPD, 9) 5-year survival rate. Methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disease with multiple pulmonary nodules in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis
A 62-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis and secondary Sjögren's syndrome took methotrexate (MTX) 5 mg three times a week regularly but gradually developed an intermittent fever, oral ulcers and productive cough with mucopurulent sputum for about 2 weeks. Image study found multiple nodular lesions and lymphadenopathies in bilateral lungs. Empirical antibiotics for 1 week failed to alleviat...

Methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disorders are a heterogeneous group of lymphoid proliferations or lymphomas that develop in patients with autoimmune diseases treated using methotrexate. These lymphoproliferative disorders are often associated with Epstein-Barr virus infection and occasionally regress after the withdrawal of methotrexate therapy. The lymphoproliferative disorder in t...

We present a case of a 67-year-old Japanese man with a serious oropharyngeal ulceration that at first seemed to be destructive malignant lymphoma or oropharyngeal carcinoma. We suspected methotrexate (MTX)-associated lymphoproliferative disorder (LPD) induced by MTX treatment for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). About 3 weeks after simple discontinuation of MTX, complete regression of the disease was...

Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), the first human virus related to oncogenesis, was initially identified in a Burkitt lymphoma cell line in 1964. EBV infects over 90% of the world's population. Most infected people maintain an asymptomatic but persistent EBV infection lifelong. However, in some individuals, EBV infection has been involved in the development of cancer and autoimmune disease. Nowadays, o...
